This particular example was made in February 1991 at Honda’s Takanezawa R&D Plant in Tochigi, Japan. This NSX came to us via a Texas car collection and the previous owner had this NSX for the past 17 years. It’s been serviced and maintained during its time with two separate original owners (owner #1 1991 - 2001 owner #2 2001 -2018). We believe the 76k miles is original according to the data from the current CarFax. With custom paint by Hills Hot Rods, custom black over Formula Red (code R-77 for the red), the car’s paint and trim are in overall very good order, with a few minor blemishes scattered about the finish. The car’s windows, including the rear glass with its defroster, are in very good order, clear and intact. The car’s lights are in similar order. This Acura’s bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy, the cargo area is in very good order and the integrated bumpers look good. This car rolls on Nitto radials, 205/45ZR16 in front and 255/40ZR17 in back. Each tire surrounds a lightweight, five-spoke Enkei RP-01 racing wheel. The tires are in very good order while the wheels are in excellent shape. Tucked behind the cockpit is Honda’s 3.0L V-6 engine with 24 valves, double overhead camshafts, variable valve timing and electronic lift control (VTEC) and programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI). This engine, which breathes via dual exhausts, is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Driver convenience features include automatic climate control, cruise control, power and vented four-wheel disc brakes, power locks, power windows, power seats, power mirrors, tilt-telescope steering column and rear window defroster. Safety features include driver’s airbag, anti-lock brakes and traction control. Inside, the car’s black interior (code E), is in overall excellent condition. The bucket seats are in overall great shape though the driver’s one obviously shows evidence more wear. The black carpet is in similar condition. The matching headliner is in excellent shape, as is the three-spoke steering wheel, inner door panels, instrument panel, center console and shifter. Rounding out the interior is a JVC AM/FM stereo with a CD player. The NSX was the first production car to feature an all-aluminum semi-monocoque unit body, incorporating a revolutionary extruded aluminum alloy frame and suspension components. The use of aluminum saved nearly 440 pounds over the steel equivalent in the body alone, while the aluminum suspension arms saved an additional 44 pounds (much of it unsprung weight); a suspension compliance pivot helped maintain wheel alignment changes at a near zero value throughout the suspension cycle. Other notable features included an independent, four-channel anti-lock brake system; an electric power steering system; and Honda's proprietary VTEC variable valve timing system. The production car made its first public appearances in 1989, at the Chicago Auto Show in February and at the Tokyo Motor Show in October of that year, to positive reviews. Honda revised the vehicle's name from NS-X to NSX before final production and sale. The NSX went on sale in Japan in 1990 at Honda Verno dealership sales channels, supplanting the Honda Prelude as the flagship model. The NSX was sold under Honda's flagship Acura luxury brand starting in November 1990 in North America and Hong Kong. Competition to this Acura in 1991 included BMW’s 8-series Coupe, Chevrolet’s Corvette, Dodge’s Stealth, Mazda’s RX-7, Mercedes-Benz’s 500 SL, Mitsubishi’s 3000GT, Nissan’s 300ZX Turbo, Porsche’s 911 and Toyota’s Supra. It was a very impressive feat of engineering for the time, being the first all-aluminum production vehicle. It was hailed by many as being the every-day supercar, harnessing the performance of a Ferrari and the reliability of a Honda. Never before had a Japanese automaker released a supercar, so when the NSX came out many people changed the way they looked at Japanese automobiles. This particular NSX currently sports 135,000 miles but the mileage does not show. It is obvious this car has been kept by an enthusiast who was meticulous about maintaining their vehicles. Inside, the leather seats are still soft and supple but not stretched or worn out in any way. All the bolstering is still in nice condition without any evidence of padding having broken down over time. Turn the key in the ignition and the 3.0 v6 fires up right away every time without hesitation. The 4 speed automatic transmission shifts into gear great, as expected as the car has recently had the gearbox serviced. The engine has recently had lots of maintenance done, including a new timing belt installed along with a new water pump and many miscellaneous seals. In the past 4 years and 5 thousand miles or so this car has had around $10k worth of service work performed, so it is ready to be driven by its new owner. The paint and bodywork is in great overall condition. The black is still very deep with some rock chips on the front end but nothing major. The car has very few dings throughout the body which is rare for an aluminum bodied vehicle with this amount of miles. This car is still sporting its factory 5 spoke wheels in excellent condition and has no modifications save for a hidden adapter to plug in a music device for the factory radio. It is very rare to find an early NSX such as this without any modifications done to it now a days. This car has only had 3 owners and the entire ownership history since new is known to us. These cars have been known to be one of the most reliable exotic cars available on the market, making them very attractive for a buyer looking to put a lot of miles on one. Overall this would be an excellent vehicle for someone who is looking to have an exhilarating exotic driving experience without having to worry about the typical maintenance costs often associated with mid-engine supercars.

Approximately 474 cars were finished in this color combo for 1991 out of a total of 3163 produced for the year. The CarFax for the car shows only one owner with the car first being registered in Cleveland, Texas on May 30, 1991. The original window sticker which is included with the car shows a...price of just over $61,000. It was driven sparingly, showing 9300 miles by 1994 and 24,292 miles by 2005. The 30K service was completed by Streater Smith Honda on 12/18/2006. There are a few more records for general service showing the car was well cared for and looked after. It appears to have changed hands to Porsche of North Olmstead in Ohio on 8/11/2017 and was sold to the current owner in early 2018. The car as it currently sits is well maintained and represents an excellent driver quality early NSX, finished in desirable colors and ready to be enjoyed.Included with the sale of the car are the factory spare, tools, jack, books, and original window sticker.EXTERIORBody And PaintThe Berlina Black paint is smooth and consistent from front to back with a dark rich luster to it. The car has been enjoyed and utilized and it shows in the form of normal road wear, especially in the front of the vehicle which contains some small stone chips from normal road debris. There is a hairline scratch on the leading edge of the front bumper and the passenger side flip up light has a small paint chip along the housings edge. There is a small scratch on the driver side front fender about an inch long and two smaller ones on the passenger side rear fender. Minor stone peppering is present on the side vents as well as on the side view mirrors. Overall the all-aluminum body is in excellent shape with smooth straight metal and quality door and panel gaps.Glass And TrimThe glass appears to be original throughout and has no real issues to note. The Theft Deterrent System sticker is still present on the drivers side window, a good testament to the all-aluminum nature. Headlight flip-up with ease and are clear and bright with no pitting or cracking in the lenses present. The rubber trim appears to be supple and solid around the whole of the car.WheelsThe five-spoke wheels are fairly clean with only a few spots of very minor rubbing on some of the wheels. The center caps have bright legible “Acura” inscription in place.Notable FlawsThere is a small scratch on the driver's side front fender, two small ones on the read passenger fender, and a hairline scratch on the front lip. There is a bit of peppering in the paint from road debris on the front bumper as well as on the side vents.INTERIORSeats And SurfacesThe ivory white interior provides a stunning contrast to the dark exterior of the car. Overall the interior has been very well kept and shows minimal issues. The VIN branded door sills are in good shape with very minimal scuffing on the driver's side. The door cards are in good order, nice and tight with no separation. The driver's side seat has some wear and creasing forming on the door side bolster but is overall good condition while the passenger side seat remains in excellent condition. The white carpets are fairly clean with only a small spot stain here and there but good consistent color throughout and minimal wear marks, even in the driver side footwell. The leather-trimmed dash is tight and a rich black with good stitching. The central stack and console plastics have good color to them and all labels are easily legible. In typical Honda fashion, all buttons and switches appear to be in good working order. The power seat adjusters move the seats with ease and the windows regulators move both windows up and down appropriately. The gauges are all bright and clear with good color to them and all appear to read their requisite functions as they should. The steering wheel is clean and tidy with no pulling seems or cracking present. Interior dome lights work as they should.Notable FlawsThere is some minor wear on the driver's side bolster, nothing to be alarmed about but worth noting. There is also a few spot stains on the white carpets.ENGINE BAY AND TRUNKEngine BayThe engine bay cover has some minor staining and areas where it appears the fabric has been rubbed. It is a fantastic place to sit and it truly feels like you are wearing the car. There is good visibility out of the front and side windows and plenty of light to provide a nice airy feel to the cabin. Out on the road, the intoxicating free revving nature of the 3.0 liter V6 is immense amounts of fun. There is a tendency to want to push the tach needle towards that redline at 8,000 rpm’s even during the most mundane of driving. The car handles extremely well and is so easy to point and go. It feels light and immensely responsive behind the wheel. The NSX was game changer when it was first introduced and for a period it was a bit lost to history but as of recently it is once again receiving its deserved praise.
